Overview

Barton Chiropractic Office, a multi-doctor family chiropractic business founded in 1938, needed to transition to new software and was looking to go from practically no technology to an Internet-capable and network-driven environment. This was required due to government regulations, insurance company requirements and additional outside forces making the medical profession extremely paper intensive. What little technology the office had, especially the individual desk top printers, was inefficient since different models purchased at different times needed their own supply of printer cartridges. If a printer was replaced, the office was left with expensive printer cartridges sitting on their shelves.


Challenge

The office needed a firm that could take what little technology was available and create a system where information could be managed more efficiently and effectively while reducing overall costs. Since the office couldn’t justify an Information Technology (I.T.) professional on staff, any computer or Internet problems were handled by the doctors, taking them away from their patient activities.


Solution

Barton selected Applied Imaging to revamp and streamline its entire communication and information technology system. After analyzing the work flow needs of the 12 member office staff, all desk top printers were replaced with one centralized, networked multifunction product (MFP). All service and supplies are provided through Applied Imaging’s PrintSmart solution and Barton just pays one low cost per page. Additionally, a managed network services solution was implemented through Applied Imaging’s NetSmart division. This assured Barton of maximum network uptime through 24/7 proactive monitoring, user and email account management, SPAM filtering management and much more.
