For the third consecutive year, Applied Imaging, Michigan’s premier independently owned office technology dealer, has been named one of Metropolitan Detroit’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA). Applied Imaging and the other companies selected will be honored for their accomplishment Tuesday, September 23 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.

According MBPA President, Jennifer Kluge, the award has become a designation sought after by hundreds of Metro Detroit’s businesses and only companies that distinguish themselves as having the most innovative and thoughtful human resources approach receive the honor. Entries are evaluated by an independent research firm in a number of categories including compensation, employee education and development, diversity and inclusion, employee enrichment, work/life balance, employee achievement and recognition, community initiatives and several others.

“On behalf of my management team, we’re very excited to once again be recognized by the MBPA for being one of Detroit’s best places to work,” said Applied Imaging President John Lowery, Michigan’s 2012 Small Businessperson of the Year. “We’ve worked extremely hard to create a culture we call Applied Chemistry. The success of that endeavor has allowed us to attract talented individuals who view Applied Imaging as a career opportunity and not just a job.

Lowery founded Applied Imaging in 1987. From its roots in Grand Rapids, the company has grown to include offices in Muskegon, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Traverse City and Metropolitan Detroit, which was established in 2011. Applied Imaging’s business includes the sales and service of copiers, printers, document storage and retrieval products, and software solutions that help customers be more productive and efficient when it comes to document workflow. Manufacturers represented by Applied Imaging include Ricoh, Canon, Kyocera, Océ, Samsung, OnBase, Microsoft, and more.
